So lets recap on the previous blog:
These are some basic points on how to create a perfect advertisement:
1. Include your address!
2. Consider personalising a mobile number.
3. Use your website as your email address.
4. Use quality images.
5. Always keep your market in mind.
Refer to this ad / poster:
1. Include your address!
2. Consider personalising a mobile number.
No.1: DO NOT make your customers guess where you are located!! You think I'm screaming at you? I am!!! Because this is VERY important! Even if you have the most fantastic special on offer it will not be of any use if your potential customers don’t know where you are. Don't ever assume everybody knows where your business is. Especially if you post an ad on Facebook. It will be shared and someone not close to you will eventually not be reached purely because they couldn't figure out where this is happening! It won't matter how fabulous your specials are....
No.2: This point might be old fashioned but what happens when someone phones you? You say hello and state your name. OK, so now you call a business on a cell phone number and lo and behold you have to ask then for their name... I find that very rude. Especially if you are using your private cell phone number as a business phone. So please, try to add your name where ever you list your number! It also adds a personal touch to your business. Also, very few people will try to get hold of you by phone the 12 contact numbers on your ad - most give up after the first 2 numbers they tried.
No.3: This is where you might need someone with more skills to help you. When you have a registered website, i.e. www.forgetmenot.co.za, you've already spent money on creating that site, right? Now you have to advertise that site otherwise its money down the drain, right? So why would you advertise gmail? A default web site comes included with at least 20 aliases. That means 20 different names you can use as email addresses. The common ones are info@, info@, admin@, sales@, etc. Even This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Make is easy to repeat when giving your email to someone.
Now, you already have the gmail address and you've been using it for 20 years. What now? You can't let all your clients and suppliers know you've changed you email, no way! Well, all you have to do is set up your email address via your website and then use an email application to link both the addresses to that one application, whether it is on your cell phone or computer. Then start notifying with each and every email that you are busy changing your address. And the people who still uses your gmail address will still download on your computer / phone! If you are unsure of how to create the site email address - contact The Marketing Company to help you out.
OK, these are the most important point for your advertisement, next time we will discuss the last 2 points which will be discussed in more depth! Have a look at your ad and see if you can spot any mishaps!
